A precious and deeply sought after gemstone, the opaque member of the sodalite group is revered for its hypnotic deep blue tones and tri-coloured flecks of white, black and gold. Unlike most gems, Lapis Lazuli is a combination of three minerals – Lazurite, calcite and pyrite. Lapiz Lazuli ranks 5/6 on the Mohs hardness scale.
