  • Earring Backing: Stud Post Butterfly Back.
  • Gemstone Dimensions: Garnet measuring 8mm x 8mm, Labradorite measuring 18mm x 13mm.

Gemstone: Garnet – The fiery stone of passion. Emitting crimson and vermillion light, Garnet embodies passion and creativity. Coveted for millennia, the gems’ blood red tones have evoked fire in all its manifestations. A semi-precious member of the silicate mineral family, Garnet is formed when a rock with high aluminium content is subjected to intense heat and pressure. Stones heroing deep crimson-red hues are known as Pyrope Garnet, originating in India. Whilst the softer rose-red and violet-red hues are from the Rhodelite Garnet, which originates in Africa. Garnet is the birthstone of January and ranks 6.5/7.5 on the Mohs hardness scale.

Gemstone: Labradorite – The stone of transformation. A ancient healer, Labradorite embodies change and expansion. It is a stone of new possibilities, life transitions and personal evolution. This semi-precious gemstone is revered for its Labradorescence – an optical phenomenon caused by a secondary layer of mineral below the surface of the gemstone. Refraction of light on this surface causes iridescent flashes of blue, green and gold. A naturally occurring member of the feldspar family, Labradorite is found within sediments and sedentary rocks. The iridescent gemstone ranks 6/6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale.
