Agmia Jewellery

Agmia Jewellery began with founder Maria Paula Espinosa, who rediscovered the jewellery of her hometown of Colombia during a 2013 visit. Inspired by the country’s time-honoured silver filigree technique — and drawing on her graphic design background — Maria Paula started collaborating with skilled Colombian artisans to create unique, wearable pieces for the Australian market. By September 2016, Agmia Jewellery debuted at leading design markets across Melbourne, where customers were captivated by the delicacy of fine silver threads soldered into intricate forms. Each piece is individually handmade, ensuring no two are ever the same.

The intricate process of Silver Filigree involves shaping ultra-fine silver wire — often drawn to less than half a millimetre in diameter — by twisting, bending, and curling it by hand. Each element is then delicately soldered into a harmonious motif, a process completed under magnification and guided by a steady hand and a keen eye for detail. The result is jewellery that feels airy, intricate, and unmistakably handcrafted.

Rooted in tradition and refined for modern life, Agmia Jewellery celebrates craftsmanship, culture, and considered design — bringing the legacy of Colombian filigree to Australia with authenticity and care.
